Marion Fraser Beggs Memorial Park, or Beggs Park for short, sits on the site of a horseshoe nail factory and a window sash factory, both of which burned in the early 1900s. The frequent loading and unloading of canal boats made this a busy and noisy spot when the factories operated. Now, Beggs Park is a combination boat launch, fishing pier, town park, and playground that offers fun, relaxation, and great views of the lake and the Essex waterfront.
The Essex, NY-Charlotte, VT ferry runs most of the year and docks near the park.
